 Artie's obsession with her father's whereabouts has weighed on her for her entire life. It wasn't until her mother's death that she was able to finally ease this curiosity. Artie is a film about a girl whose own selfishness, stubbornness and naivety gets in the way of the most valuable relationships of her life. Only when she finds out her father's identity does she realize the ultimate sacrifice her mother has made-  relinquishing a relationship with her daughter in hopes of saving her the pain of knowing the truth.
